WELCOME TO THE VILLAGE OF
MERRILLAN
The Village of Merrillan Board of Trustees Welcomes You to
Our Nice Village.

Meetings:
The Village Board meets the First and Second
Tuesdays of each month at 7 PM at the Village Hall
to discuss and decide village business and you are encouraged
to attend a meeting.

Garbage:
Veolia Waste Services is the garbage collection provider
and picks up garbage on Thursdays each week except when
a holiday falls during that week, on a weekday, and then
the garbage will be picked up on Friday. Any questions
on what Veolia will and will not take you can call them
at the following toll free number: 1-888-271-7176.

Recycling pick up is every Tuesday of each week. All pick-ups are curbside.

Yard waste
pick-up is the First Monday of every month. Brush
must be in manageable lengths (4' lengths) and bundled
for safe handling and pick up.

 The
Village of Merrillan has a animal license and leash law
and requires all pets to be licensed and under the control
of the owner when off your premises. This includes cats.
Aggressive animals are not allowed in the Village. (Proof
of current Certfication of Rabies Vaccination is required.)
A Kennel License is required if you have more than
two (2) dogs or two (2) cats or combination thereof. |
The
Village has a Public Nuisance Ordinance that addresses
unsightly accumulations of
materials and junk and is strictly enforced. |

Parks: The Village has several parks available
for your enjoyment. You can reserve a park structure for
your family reunions, birthdays, etc., for a small fee,
to be paid at the village hall a minimum two weeks prior
to
your event in order to hold your reservation. It is on
a "first come, first served" basis. |
Please contact the Zoning Administrator or
UDC Building Inspector (below) to determine if a Building
or Zoning permit is required before beginning any building,
fencing, remodeling or additions to your property or stop
in at the Village Hall.
